These vehicles were generally used for Oxford South Midland\'s own short distance express services, although here it seems to be operating a National Express service. Note that the 'South Midland' suffix to the fleetname has been omitted.
Under NBC control, the former BET company, City of Oxford Motor Services, assumed responsibility for South Midland coaching operation previously part of Thames Valley, but prior to that, part of the Red & White Group. The name ‘South Midland’ was therefore added to the fleetname for the buses as well, a logical move, given the operating area served.
